the company was based in italy for the mojority of its first life span. they were eventually shut down by the italian government for over 30 years of tax evasion. the company was so well connected they never payed taxes like other companies, they just talked to someone about it. volkswagon ceo wants to kill bugatti cause it doesn't make any money. they only make cars to order now and you pay to run the company just to get a car out of them. say bye bye bugatti.

Actually, the name Bugatti is Italian. The founder, Ettore Bugatti was Italian, but he founded the company in Molsheim, France. It's now owned by Volkswagon Group (German) who also owns Lamborghini (Italian) and Bentley (British).
