Do you know the time frame or context when that was the case? Because the original version, capoeira angola, looks like even less of a fighting style. The current version wasnt developed until the early 1900's, and i know there was a time period where it was made completely illegal in Brazil

dont hate on capoeira its a real deal martial art. i do capoeira as well as BJJ, TKD, Muay Thai, and okinawan Kempo Karate. each art is unique and i learn something from every single one. dont judge capoeira guys. try it first. try it for a few weeks or months even and ull see what im talking about. plus if u suck at dancing this will help u in the clubs and u might get more pussy!!! hahaha i love this video best capoeira ive seen on youtube.

the spin kicks has some good power in them but the art itself is questionable to me...it's hard to find an actual fight...this just looks like break dancing...

I gotta say, this type of martial art is just plain beautiful, yet some of those kicks look like they could kill you... damn... i'm impressed
