Yeah, I'm asking myself that question right now. Of course anyone who migrated to this country in the last year probably had no idea that the U.S. was about to go into what could be a very long term recession.

Cont: Puerto Rican's are proud people and they are proud of their heritage and culture and although many of them migrated like so many other races have, they hold their pride for their island. The same as Italians, they have generations of family who have not lived in Italy, but they are just as proud of being Italian; have you ever question why they "so many exercise their option to come to the U.S?" Just a question?

I appreciate you reiterating your question and the over response as you can is because there is no stability economically on the island for the average family. Long story short, people go where they are stable and are able to fend for themselves. The American Dream, to have home, Job, and have 2.5 kids and have the white picket fence with 2 cars.

Well the Pipbangs might be related to Puerto Rican struggle for Ireland's liberation from Britain. Which in return Don Pedro Albizu Campos stood for. On the other hand the images of Walt Disney has nothing to do with our history. But one of commercial and exploitative measures the us corporations have done to the Puerto Rican people.

I'm a Native American aka "American Indian." I have respect for the ricans.

Your right, I used to live in PR, many years, is a US territory but not a State. The crime is high, jobs doesn't pay, government is corrupt. That is why people leave.

Well the island is pretty but small, the crime is high and the jobs doesn't pay. Enough? |
