Dont say The Citadel is a copy of West Point. The Citadel did not get the whole football team thrown out for cheating. Anyone care to see the movie Code Breakers. 90 cadets including 37 letter football players kicked out for cheating.

It is harder to get into westpoint. but classes here are more difficult to pass than any other college.

It is difficult to square the propaganda in this video with the realities of the other Citadel videos on youtube (e.g., knobs acting as Oompah Loompahs, knobs rapping, etc.). West Point and the Virginia Military Institute, aka the West Point of the South, have richer traditions and greater historic contributions.

I would say it is harder to get into WP, partly because it is free so there are a lot of applicants. But also it is harder because as a federal service academy each cadet needs to secure the nomination of his or her congressman, senator, or the vice-president in order to be eligible for acceptance. Even more, candidates take a physical fitness test and medical exam as part of their application.

In terms of finances, WP is free, plus you draw monthly pay. Additionally you get a very large, low interest loan during your junior year. At The Citadel that is not the case, and as I said earlier, you have to pay tuition unless you can get a scholarship.
