Munch is one of my favourite painters. I love the way he used simplified shapes, vivid colors, contrasts, lines and drama in his paintings!

Edward bought a photography-camera and said: "It can`t compete with the brush, bechause it cannot be used in hell, or heaven"..

At 1:37, "Sick Child", who is Edwards sister dying, it was put on the national-gallery when it was new. People where laughing, and the newspapers called it scandalous trash.. Munch challenged all the old-school painters, who was painting with tecknique, no emotions. Edward thought they were amateurs and booring. But it took many years for him before the world "saw it".. But the more daring bohemes backed him up.

Munch is so great. I love the photo at the end of him in the studio.

Fun thing: For people who doesn`t like or are really interested in art, they do not like Munch. "They" like more national romance, or wery detailed paintings.. And the typichal "the scream is ugly". But how to paint a scream "nice"?? A scream is not calm and "nice" on it`s own.. Edward is one of my favuorites. He even did put his paintings outside to let weather and wind have it`s hand on them. He even put marks with knifes and so on some, to get more into the subject.

Oh, sorry, I think I confused the right with the left side of the brain..

Alongside with Van Gogh, he came up(or it came"out") with expressionism. Different from Vincent, Munch got ritch and famous while he lived, but ofcourse he went through mutch of the same as Vincent in many ways. I guarded the "scream" last year. It is screaming really :)Like when you see a national-romantic painting, details goes first trough the right side of your brain, then the left side, then "to your heart". In expressionism it goes to your right side then "to your heart",it`s simplyfied
