The mathematical limit of the fibonnaci recursion approaches the golden ratio. The two are not the same but are related in that you can arrive at the golden ratio via aplication of the fibonnaci recursion sequence.

The symbol of the Freemasons is a compass, not a Fibonacci gauge, just thought you should know.

the only relation between the Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Ration is that the ratio of the numbers in the sequence will approach Phi, but they will never equal Phi. it is a very common mistake to relate the Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Ratio as the same theory. You can not find Phi in the Fibonacci Sequence, best way to find it is in the Golden Rectangle. Phi is approximately 1.618 (it is an irrational number) and the easiest way to apply the ratio is to think 62%.
