Um...I am Legend was actually a novel by Richard Matheson, written in 1954.And then there was a movie based on it called The Last Man on Earth, starring Vincent Price. And then another movie based on it called Omega Man starring Charlton Heston. I have yet to watch either, but I might.So they technically came first. If you're talking about the Will Smith movie, it might be understandable.
