No, they appeared on THP the previous year performing "Stop! In the Name of Love".

I've just posted the Aretha Franklin version. And, yes, they are lip-synching...though, I do believe there's some live singing going on, as Diana's handclaps can be heard at :16, so, at the very least, the mics are on. Diana seems to misspeak during the same passages in the choruses. It's a unique situation to me. Was this their first appearance on "THP"?

Come on everyone. This is without a doubt lip-synced. There is no need to be in denial or embarrased. It takes away nothing from The Supremes legacy. The vocals were pre-recorded for this particular program, and then The Supremes mimed the words. Just accept that.

Sorry folks anyone who knows Supremes music know when it lip sinc verses live. This live. Learn a little about Diana's voice. The hic and mouth moments and coos as well as her facial expressions and her ability to smile that fab smile while singing.

PORTIA666 (September 23, 2008 at 9:11 am)
Yes they most certainly are. At exactly 35 seconds it's beyond obvious. I can't believe 4 people gave your truthful comment thumbs down. Lol denial.
