It could be a few different BOVs. Maybe an ARC blow off valve or maybe even the rare, Bee*R Super Bee.

is this guy serious, he had the hand brake fully engaged when he clutched it, you can watch it get yanked out of his hand. He dropped the clutch on a rear wheel drive car, with the rear wheels being held by a brake. genius

its not compresser* surge that sounds different, plus ive heard that same sound on differ car and differ size turbos.
Thevandiran (May 11, 2008 at 1:05 pm)
that sound mate, is turbo flutter. happens when the throttle body is closed. the hot exhaust gas being fed by the turbine has nowhere to go but backwards through the turbo again. the hot air comes back through the turbo in bursts and when combined with your air intake piping, you get that sound. however, not very healthy for the turbo in the long run. the newer ones might be able to take it. but the old ceramic turbos...might want to watch it with those.

It sounded like the 61JZ or 2JZ ?? no idea...Since the sound is so high pitched I would think its the 1JZ (2.5L), the 2JZ (3.0L) sounds a little lower. Really not sure though. |
