Better than band today (save King Crimson' modern material of course), and this is 30+ years ago.The early 1970's were truly a renaissance in music.

I've been a Yes fan since the '70s and I probably have most of their music committed to memory but I have question:What are the lyrics talking about?It's not rhetorical, I really want to know. With, let's say, Jethro Tull, no matter how sophisticated the verse gets I generally can get to what he's talking about. But with this stuff I'm scratching my head. Total mass retain? What does that mean?The music, though, is crystal clear.

Close To The Edge is arguably the best work Yes has ever put together. One word to describe the entire album and this song "flawless".
