Those are going to choke real sea fishes when they get eaten.

A propellor is basicly several wings that spin around. The surface of the blades (wings) is curved so that water moves faster along the bottom then the top so the water gets sucked through it.A curving body basicly becomes the wing and cycles backwards and forwards, increasing and decreasing the surface on either side. Its far more efficient. Also, the entire body can move a larger volume of water then a single propellor ever could. The body basicly is one massive propulsion system.

How long until they are deployed in more usefull situations, like search and rescue of survivors aty sea, or mis-used, as remote controlled spybots, capable of deploying an explosive payload, eployed from either a sub, or an armchair in washington/beijing? In my opinion, they could be mass produced and released into the ocean with solar/H2O renewable powercells, programmed with basic fish behavoural subroutines, and used as automatic homing beacons for sailors in distress.

How are these more maneuverable then propeller driven craft?

lol, how do they plan to keep sharks and other large predators from trying to feast on them?
