Thats right. I was just going by the factory standerds. There is 2 engines that did. The 1100cc/25HP & 1200cc/36HP engine uses a copper ring in the heads. But it is so you dont get exaust gasses in to the heater boxes.

Correct. But headgaskets can be used in these motors to lower compression for turbocharing.

No they dont. I know it sounds weard but they dont. I have bilt meney VW air cooled engines and it works vary well.
