Her first three albums are terrific.The third in particular is excellent, and much underrated at the time for moving away from lo-fi into more elaborate and melodic constructions. Listen to songs such as "Uncle Alvarez", "Headache" and "Shitloads of Money". If you don't think that Liz Phair can construct a good song, you're delusional.

There's a live video of this song here on YouTube (it's an in-store I think) and it sounds like she says F-16, but the recorded track sounds like M-16. I don't have my copy of Whip-Smart handy, but I don't recall it having printed lyrics, hence the different interpretations online. I agree with you though, this recording DOES sound like M-16. But, F-16's are pretty "wicked" too. Argh, c'mon Liz, clear this up.
