Actually, the song was written by Bobby Bluebell, Bobby Valentino and Siobhan Fahey. Siobhan wrote the 3rd verse which the Bluebells didn't use

I asked many foreigners in Japan「Do you know this song？」but most of them didn't know except people from near UK.　I showed to them, everybody responded 「Very happy music, thank you！」　I guess 99% of Japanese don't know it, never in Karaoke-list.　I wish through You Tube etc this formidable song shall be popular even far from Europe.Until 6 years ago, I've never heard such a funny, kidding, rare violin-play as good meaning.

A great memory from TOTP in 1993. Amazing how a then 9 year old (1984) song came back and went to number one for 5 weeks in the 90's. I remember the song on both occasions. Thanks for posting.....
