Well, I can see that you've missed the point completely. We're not arguing about an Elmo video, we're arguing about criticism. But since you've failed to grasp even that, I'm not really concerned about it anymore. If you must know, Youtube recommended this video to me because I've viewed classic Muppets/Sesame St. videos before.

Seriously, how old are you? Under 12 most likely. I don't think anyone over that age could be so pathetic as to argue over a 3 1/2 minute Elmo video. Why did you come here in the first place?

The target audience is irrelevant. Millions of children like to have people clap in their face while being spoken to in a high voice. That doesn't make it an interesting form of entertainment. Just because it works doesn't mean it's worthwhile.Calling for quality and originality in any form of entertainment is a *good* thing. High standards = better entertainment.Seriously, are you saying that just because children like Elmo, Elmo is beyond criticism?

And yet Elmo manages to draw in young children by the millions if you look at the hits on this site. I think people like you need to invest a little less time criticizing that brings joy to the young and innocent and a little more time with a thesaurus. Obviously you like to use a plethora of words and verbose litanies of opinions to make yourself seem well-versed and intelligent. I have three concise words for you. Get a life. --katie19zap.Read it, and then read it again.

Gotta say, I agree with bloggaloggs. Elmo isn't very interesting. It's all too easy to create a character like this to appeal to children. Why shouldn't we expect people to create a more multifaceted personality? Do we really want to train our children to be attracted to the lowest common denominator examples of entertainment? (Actually, I don't think very young children should watch TV at all.)Anyway, it's perfectly valid to criticize anything, no matter who enjoys it.

Got one thanks. And why would I need more time with a thesaurus if you're already criticising me for using a plethora of words? (None of which, incidentally, are obscure or complex. They are all quite commonly used if you pay attention to the world around you. But then I notice you are 23, meaning you grew up with Elmo on Sesame Street. Which only proves my point really...)
