More vintage Buck Owens stuff here with the classic Buckaroo theme, Act Naturally and Chuck Berry's Memphis Tennesee.Act Naturally is written by Johnny Russell & Voni Morrison and was originally recorded by Buck Owens, whose version reached number 1 on the Billboard Country Singles chart in 1963.The song became really populair among all sorts of audiences worldwide and was even once covered by the Beatles (who were huge Buck Owens' fans) for their 1965 Help album. In 1989 Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and the legendary Buck Owens teamed up together to do a brand new version of the song.Act NaturallyThey're gonna put me in the moviesThey're gonna make a big star out of meWe'll make a film about a man that's sad and lonelyAnd all I have to do is act naturally[CHORUS]Well, I bet you I'm gonna be a big starMight win an Oscar you can never tellThe movie's gonna make me a big star,'Cause I can play the part so wellWell, I hope you come and see me in the movieThen I'll know that you will plainly seeThe biggest fool that ever hit the big timeAnd all I have to do is act naturallyWe'll make a film about a man that's sad and lonelyBegging down upon his bended kneeI'll play the part but I won't need rehearsingAll I have to do is act naturally[CHORUS]

You've got great taste and you're in good company too. I already liked Rob Zombie's music and movies but found a whole new level of respect for the man when he put that Buck Owens clip in "Devil's Rejects". My love for good music transcends the labels that people want to stick on it. Any Telecaster player who doesn't know who Don Rich was is really deprived of an education, in my opinion. He had the most killer tone and the most tasteful licks there was.

Don Rich was a great guitar player. A lot of stuff Junior Brown does is right out of the Rich/Owens book. Buck and Don are both missed. I love my heavy metal, but I can respect true talent and they had it.

Can't get no better, Buck a natural super star and Don clownin, pickin and grinnin - think I'll head out to the Crystal Palace for a beer. Johnny Pal of MangoDaville

Between him and Roy Nichols of Merle Haggard's Strangers, they both defined an era.

The opening theme is called "Buckaroo". It's and instrumental that served as the band's opening song for years.

Buck & Don ...magic :)

The answer to a year old question. There was no sound system in the studio. They all just played straight through amps and adjusted to the drums. DangerousDonRich said in a previous comment that Don was just "Showin' off the sparkle." I would agree with that, Don just being silly and showoff-ish.

The guitars are tuned down half a step, allowing Buck to play an A chord shape, but it be a Ab. The studio version was done in G, with Don tuned down a full step (D to D).
