i LOVE Duke Eliington! i have this version of a train, and he has this 2 or 3 minute solo at the beginning...talk about a musical genius, that solo was AMAZING! i would have to say hes my favorite jazz pianist

No praise high enough for the legacy Duke has bequeathed to us. Fabulous. 1953 my first shock to hear the Ellington band (and this great swing number) For me this is not the best version-still damn great though.

i do agree with you, but my point was that listening to his songs reminds me that he has passed away. Still, people will enjoy his songs for a good time.

Not so, my friend, Duke is eternal. We're listening to him today in admiration just like humans will be 1000 years from now. And you can be sure Duke is making gorgeous music wherever he is. No need for sorrow.
