pt III -- Major Thornburgh led the soldiers from Fort Rawlins WY. when they cross Milk Creek the Indians who had hundreds of rifles let them have it. Within two years (1881) the Utes were out of Colorado. There were much mineral resrves that the whites wanted.That was a lot of writing to make a point. Europe should be singing about conquering vikings or something similar. why didn't they sing about Australian aborigines? I guess it really doesn't matter. it is a cool song and those guys rock!!!

pt II -- continued from below. . . Another intrsting Indian removal was the Utes from CO. The indian agent (Meeker) was placed in that position to "force" agriculture on the Utes. When they resisted meeker called for soldiers to come from nearby WY.

Andrew Jackon's removal of the Chrokees from GA was actually illegal. The Cherokees took the case to the Supr Court. Chief Justice Marshall ruled in favor of the Cherokees Jackson had a personal vendetta against Indians. His resp. to the ruling was - John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it.
