I am playing Sarah in this. I think that they did a good job, however I don't think that the full extent of the akwardness of the scene was established enough.

what these girls didn't keep in mind was the actual play. noel coward is very civilized and sometimes the girls push the line of too much.in this play, you can't see any sort of fear at all in george. he is a tough character to play, because you have to find the right balance. you know george is related to the theatre because he knows private lives, he knows a beckett peice etc. but he's not an actor. you have to find the right balance between fear, confusion and comfort.

I'm not so keen on how this is performed. Although since I'm startign a two week run as george on wednesday I suppose it just bites me in the arse everytime they miss one of the little physical or vocal touches I added to the character.

I'm acting in this, I'm Meg, We (the rest of the cast, and I) looked at this, trying to see other ideas. I dont like it either. George in this is far to calm about everything. And I dont see my character as being as angry as she's portrayed in this. I'm not fond of the directors interpretation, at all.

Wow. Talk about not having a character. Devonbites, you're right he really needs to realize that he has NO idea whats going on.

Why is george so NOT timid, shy, or feeling INCREDIBLY out of place? that's the whole point of this play. His character makes him seem like he's totally cool wiht what's happening. this could be done alot better.
