Who are some of you people? have you heard Robert Johnson? The beauty of his style(to me) is his erratic on the fly approach. I think thats what seperates him is his endless bag of interchangeable licks, instead of a set Rhythm structure. ps if you wanna hear RJ get a Cd if you wanna see a performer go to a show but don't complain they sound different or have the wrong guitar,Rory Rules! pss try to see the Alvin Youngblood Hart (Hellhounds)cover, my fav RJ interpretation

i saw rory in concert in chicago, and i stepped out mid 4th song. and this "detaching" from the vocals is an excuse for her inability to match Rj's approach. Detach!?! haha, what she means is, "oh, shit, i cant play that part." one thing i give huge props to her is when she made an analogy that playing the delta blues is like playing classical music. You can't make into your own, but rather playing it the way it was meant to be.

Every hear Robert Johnson do this tune? She captures the essence of RJ better than anyone else ever has. No - it is not your standard I-IV-V 12 bar by a longshot, and it doesn't pretend to be. Rory talks about "detaching" the vocals from the music and allowing it to move or vary in position with respect to the music. Easier said than done. If you were expecting to hear a Clapton-esque version, this ain't it, and it ain't supposed to be. This is real deal delta, and I'm sure RJ would be proud.

I had the same feeling as I listened to this. Her time is erratic. I don't care for her approach either, but I don't dispute her skill.

I've been playing this tune since 1972 and this is one of the best played versions - in terms of the genre - I've ever heard.

Rory's got 27+ albums under her belt. I think she can play on what ever guitar she wants.
