Capitalism (1948)

Another winner from Coronet Instructional Films! In this one, a group of teenagers on a high-school radio program discuss just what capitalism is, seizing onto the example of the butcher who supplies the weenies for their picnic. A bona fide capitalism love-in! Weenie references fly fast and furious here.Capitalism is one of many "free-enterprise education" films released in the first few years of the Cold War. Unlike many films produced under corporate sponsorship, it avoids taking jabs at socialism, Russia or New Deal government programs. Nonetheless, it uses the common Coronet device of showing a group collectively engaged in coming to terms with an idea -- a process with predetermined conclusions. In this respect, I imagine that it's not so different from Soviet educational films.

That's just a load of bull. Anyone can't compete with multi- million dollar corporations. Why don't you start your own broadband company and compete with comcast. lolCapitalism worked best when we had common sense regulation, strong labor unions and middle class and business couldn't just buy our elected officials. That's not the case today so your point is a bit dated.

Look what America is selling these days. Weight loss, reverse mortgages ect. Listen to commercials and almost every one is trying to sell some drug or scam people in some way. Wow what innovation. We have a dictator right now who doesn't tell people what jobs they can have but creates an environment where people are forced to take any job they can get. How about the auto industry that refused to make more fuel efficient vehicles because they made some deal with the energy companies?

People need to remember to respect the system that made out country great and bywhich ANYONE can profit. I hear a lot of excuses why NOT, and it is harder for some, and easier for others, but it is available to ALL.

Marx stole his idea from the Bible, in the book of Acts. where the first Christian church sold their possessions and shared with each other.Marx corrupted it, made it a bad economic theory, which led to the murders of 30 million innocent people.

this is truth.

Eventually, yes. Right now it takes little effort to live. People used to have to work much harder. But, if you have socialism "eventually" is a lot more eventual. Capitalism allows maximum velocity toward making life easier and easier.

Killit, very wealthy people don't stuff their money under a mattress. They put it in banks, stocks, bonds, and other investments. And with that capital, more wealth is created. They have capital available for YOU to use if you want to create wealth. They're not hoarding their wealth.

Key word eventually, eventually a car will fly said one man in 1964. That's 44 years.... eventually can be sooner, later, or never.

What if there is too much wealth that is never seen? I'm not scornful towards the family that can afford 2 gaming systems, a good education, and a nice house. It's the ones who can afford 2 major cities, a home in every state, a small island, and still have enough to throw. Knock them down to 1 city and bring everyone else up to that point.
