Oh, My stupidity kicked in while playing the game I guess. I saw the Cog symbol all over the place and was always saying "What the hell is the point of these? Are they just for letting you know you are playing Gears of War?" But now it makes sense. Thanks for being smarter than me :)

Basically you get 1g for each cog tag every time you find 10, 10 cog tags = 10g, 20 cog tags = 20g, 30 cog tags = 30g, so it is an easy 60g if you follow this guide.
