To be more specific, "Damned" means going to hell. She's the queen of the vampires, whose souls are damned. Tola45 is a bit off. It's not her that is damned.

thankfully I saw the movie before I read the books, so I enjoyed both. ;Dthe storyline of the movie was completely screwed up compared to the book, but whatever. I guess the whole Lestat + Jesse thing would bring a bigger audience?

also they are damned because they are immortal, walking dead. they have to spend the rest of there days walking the around the earth, probably lonely, watching everyone die around them, watching the world change for the good or for the bad. their suffering will never end.

actually "damned" refers to all the vampires - as they are, like you said, doomed(etc). And she is their queen. Thus it's "queen of the vampires/[those who are] damned"

DAMN STRAIGHT!! I hate when people compare lame writers to Anne Rice! She will always be the best! And the movie Queen of the Damned sucked so bad, not only compared to the book but also to another Vampire Chronicles movie Interview with the Vampire. I cried through most of the movie, not only for the terrible acting and choice of actors but also for how they trashed a lot of the original plot and turned it into one of the corniest vampire movies I've ever seen. But Kidney Thieves still rocks.
