So my question is: was there ANY way to visit mother while she was alive or not? Or was he doomed to never make it?.......

There r some paradoxal scenarios: imagine a distant future. You have moved to a nice house on planetA while your mother still lives on planetB, wich are 2 lightyears apart. You got bad news, your mother is sick and may only live 2 years. So you get in your ship and head straight to planetB wich, by your math, should take 2 years and get you there just in time to see her alive. But when you get there she's long dead. By travelling so fast you made her planet age faster, so faster means slower(?)

Space is flat, WMAP helps prove that. The only thing that bends is light. Time itself is not a manipulative force it is only a comparison in speed between all matter in the universe. You would have to rearrange the entire universe to travel back in time, which means you would have to know where every bit of matter and energy was at that point in time and then SOMEHOW manage to rearrange everything in the universe to match it. Yet even then it is moving forward in time.

The thing is that if you change the past then the events that would have led you to leave will never have happened, therefore you will have never left. Thus, the reality we exist in doesn't allow for it, and even if we could invent time travel. We live in the aggregate of all event possibilities.

Oh also, just because you can travel back to the past doesn't mean you can CHANGE the past. That's another problem people seem to have with this idea. You can't travel back in time and kill Hitler before World War II because it already happened and Hitler survived. There may have been a time traveler there (ignoring that wormholes only open gates back to their own invention period)...but if there was an attempt on Hitler's life early...it failed.
EGarrett01 (September 3, 2008 at 9:45 pm)
Yeah, that's a known problem. With the wormhole idea, though, you could only travel back to the point that the wormhole was created. So the fact that we don't see time travelers visiting today doesn't necessarily mean that it will never be possible.

Ok think about it this way...there is no way time travel is possible...and even if it is we would all be fucking rich!...just write down the lottery winning number on a paper and travel back in time and play the lottery. Everyone would of want to done that and it would fuck up the timeline!..your character is rich living in this timeline...imagine everyone had access to time travel and everyone would win the lottery! There would be no existance if you think about it.

time travel is impossible.. if it could be created people from the future would have came and warned us of stuff.. and told us it was dangerous |
