Tommy's left leg and left hand have plenty of speed and power. The reason he uses his right more is because JKD is strong side forward and your main tools are his right hand and right leg.

hes good in form, if you notice, he uses his right hand for striking and right leg for leg kicks, meaning he is not well rounded and he cannot use his left that well, in order to be the best, you must be able to use all of your body, also he will not survive in a real fight, but his motions are great, quick and that is what JKD is about. practice a little more on your left hand strikes and left kicks ;)

that was never the issue here. It was claimed that Bruce hadn't "touched" filipino training nor had even thought about doing so. That is incorrect, Bruce did train kali, escrima etc. He became very good at it, as with most thing he did. Bruce knew alot of styles he would consider non effective in real life, but that was his thing, to try as much as possible, to become wellrounded etc. But to why Bruce closed his schools is because he thought it was becoming crystalized religion again, Linda said

Ok. Two quick points in response. Firstly, I actively choose to ignore anything that ANYONE says about Bruce's reasons for closing his schools. Secondly, with regards to the Inosanto reference... I took my info from a Black Belt interview with Dan Inosanto. DI himself is the one who revealed that Bruce wasn't impressed or in any way interested in Filipino martial arts. In that interview Inosanto said that Bruce told him (Dan) that he (Bruce) didn't think it would work in real life.

theres no denying it, he is a great martial artist, you can see it by his movements, speed, power, body mechanics, technique etc. the only thing is his 'one inch punch' seems a little of..not saying that it wont do damage its just that it seems like hes making it easier to do by changing the position of himself and drawing his arm back. anyway nice video

I see alot of complaining about the martial art world. Well, thats why there is MMA. UFC, DEEP, King of the cage, Strikeforce, Cage rage, Pancrase, K-1, Dream, Art of war. ect.Martial arts world is still growing. You just have to find out where. Not in your "traditional" schools but in MMA. The name says it all. Mixed Martial Arts. |
