Yes, but the trouble is, no-one's listening. Labour held a seat at a by-election recently, partly on local issues but also because people see Brown as the answer, not the problem. His answer may be the correct one - spend our way out of recession - but it was his policies that got us into the current state in the first place. He was desperate for Blair to resign so he could have a turn at being PM before the birds came home to roost; he must be feeling very relieved indeed!

You are absolutely right. Looking for Gordon Brown to solve England's financial mess is similar to America asking the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, Henry Paulsen, to solve our financial crisis. Brown and Paulsen are the problem, not the solution.
