Yeah, cuz a lot of Kubrick's films (e.g. A Clockwork Orange) seemed to have a very British feel to them or were set in Britain.

After having lived the greater part of his life in England he never lost his Bronx (born and raised there and a curiously understated fact) accent. Visited a house he lived in as a child and teenager in the Bronx. Knocking on the door a middle-aged man answers and after begging his pardon for the intrusion I tell him that Stanley Kubrick had once lived here. He says, "Wow, really. Who the fuck is Stanley Kubrick"?
