Admission in 1971 was just $4.75! By 1986, it was up to $21.50, a $5 increase over 1985's admission rate! By 1998, it was up to $44.52! Then in 2004, up to $59.75! Today, admission is $75 for one day! :-(

That is SO TRUE! Food carts selling overpriced spring water! Walt wouldn't recognize the place. I can imagine he would be speechless! LOL!

and you weren't bumping into a food cart or tacky merchandise wagon every 20 yards either...wonder if Walt would even recognize the place (ok I know he died before it was open...but he signed off on the plans)

This is great seeing this. I first came to Disney 1984 and I was baby then with pictures in stroller, and although I don't remember much from then, I still see the pictures, and it looks closer to this than now. I remember 20 leagues under the sea, but do not remember Mickey Mouse Revue. When was that taken out of the Magic Kingdom? I am from S Fl. (about 2.5 hours away from the WDW), but the rest of the state grew with Disney!! I also went one week after 9/11 too, and was as empty as 1972.

It looked more like land than buildings back then, and not HUGE crowds of people like it is now.
