couldn't agree more, he's a superb interpreter of what he's 'singing'. Literally his guitar fleshes out the intent in the lyrics. Peerless in my opinion.

These are two amazing performers with more emotion than most players I have heard in years. Gillian makes us feel we are back in the dust bowl (maybe will be soon with the market the way it is) but anyway just a throw back of great music with great emotion and a first class songwriter. She is also easy on the eyes IMO

That's my point. They certainly don't help him play and I don't think they're indiosyncratic at all. They appear to be very deliberate. I'm not totally convinced he does it for any other reason than to try to pull some of the attention away from Gillian. I could be wrong and it's largely irrelevant. I just find watching him annoying which is a shame because I really enjoy Gillian.

I think the gyrations are just idiosyncratic behavior. You can look at D. Trucks play, he is essentially motionless. Personally, if their motions (or lack of) help them play, fine with me.
