Show me where I argue that electric motors are less efficient than ICE--you can't, because I didn't. I argued that a hybrid that gets lower MPG than a gas-engine-powered car is less fuel efficient than the gas-engine-powered car. Now, is a hybrid car (e.g. the Prius) purely electric?--No; that's why it's called a 'hybrid'. There is a flaw in your reasoning.P.S. Using conclusion indicators (thus, therefore, etc.) doesn't help your argument when your premises are false.

If you know they are more efficient then why do you keep arguing that they are not? There is no flaw in my statement, and it's not a reasoning. Concluding that your statement is true because it is so has no logic within it. Hybrid just a description? please go back and watch the video as the hybrid that is just a "description" getting more mpg.

Nickel mineing to make MiMH Batteries is more devestating to the environment then oil drilling. And it turns out that the average life expectancy of a NiMH battery really is no more than 110k miles. Also How many miles to the gallon does that gas engine alone actually get when it's Running. Don't trust the MPG meter it lies. Hybrids actually get worse highway miealege than they do city. Hybrid cars produce moe emission's than some trucks, there carbon footprint is ENORMOUS

I know electric motors are more efficient than internal combustion engines. My statement is true. Efficiency is what you get out divided by what you put into a system. So if this ratio is higher in a all-gas car than a hybrid car, then the hybrid is less fuel efficient. There is a flaw in your reasoning. If there is a gasoline car that gets higher MPG than a hybrid, the hybrid is not more fuel-efficient simply because it's a hybrid. Get it straight. 'Hybrid' is just a description, not a ranking.

The NiMH batteries work just fine.In Canada it runs as taxi 300km/186miles a day.view liveoilfree's videos. he has an electric rav4 100% electric. The NiMH cells were designed for this task. The Patents for NiMH are now owned by US-oil.Cobasys belongs to Chevron, and they are even delivering defective batteries. So US hybrids tend to fail more often. They ruin the us car makers just to make more money.they have a deal with Mercedes, but refuseto make NiMh-batteries for the ML450 hybrid.

I still would never hav a hybrid of any kind, Maintenance on hybrids is more common than people expect and random electrical issues are always a constant. Also in order to get the maximum fuel economy out of them they have to lighten them up to nothing. If I want to save money on gas I'll drive less and drive slower. If I want to help save the world I'll buy an old car rather than support Overwhelming polution caused just by manufacturing a new car.

Oh I agree with you completely on the Prius; I'm happy cab drivers are using them over Crown Vics here in Vanocuver, but you'd never find me owning one. Besides there's something about Toyota in general that I don't like. It's the Fit that I'd argue is a good example of a "get what you pay for" car. It's no sports car, but if you're a city guy who likes to haul shit, have a car that lasts longer then ten years and gets 56 MPG (imperial) the fit is great |
