I think you pretty much got everyone...and, yes...Dexter is God.

Dexter, Sonny Rollins, Coltrane, Colman Hawkins, Sonny Stitt, Wayne Shorter, Brecker, Getz, Webster. Did I forget anyone? You see, I cant even put Kenny G in the same sentence with the baddest MoFo's to pick up the Tenor. I agree..Dexter is god. He had the fullest tone ever, with all due respect to Hawkins. I LOVE the diminished vibrato that he does. Long live Long Tall Dexter!

He'd just fly across the street in his LearJet. Not sure if Dexter had a LearJet. I think he may have had a bicycle in Denmark (or, was that Stan Getz?). Goes to show, if 60% of the planet likes your music - there's something wrong. Dexter is God.

Yes, he played in Ottawa (Canada) back in the seventies. I shook his hand. He kissed my sister. Go figure. (Dexter knows best).

Terminal vibrato was a mainstay of many great jazz musicians - Louis Armstrong for one. Frowned upon in classical (where the vibrato starts at the start of the note, not at the end).

Kenny G is coffee table pretentious crap for people who think they're into jazz...in other words:MUSAK to my ears.Dexter Gordon and Lee Morgan are my favorites in the jazz scene of yester year....

Hey SAMADJHI how dare you put Kenny G down.he is one of the most beloved sax players around!I completely agree with you dog..Kenny G couldn't carry the horn case of the great sax players across the street! Ha Haaaa i love it. Maybe my assessment might be as funny as yours...."Kenny G....the king of contemporary elevator music! That's all.
