I'm borrowing the 3rd ed. from the library now and it's definitely a good book. I used Anton 7th ed. way back, which was also a good book.Dough I don't think I'll try to get back into the subject professionally, I still find it interesting.

His book is wonderful, definitely worth picking up a copy if you still have interest in the subject.

Ofcourse the concepts are basic in this lecture because he is introducing the methods of linear algebra. The concepts are really the same as those in highschool algebra, but in linear algebra we think about the systems in terms of vectors and coefficient matrices. I actually find it a little confusing at times. I prefer to just substitute or eliminate to solve equations; but I'm prett sure that these methods must unavoidable for certain systems; if not, what would be the point?

No bullshit. After years of consideration, I believe that the highest status one can attain in mathematics is that of a professor. A good professor enlivens the desire in another person for numeracy. This lesson inspired me and I look forward to the rest of the series. For those of you who think this is basic, I hope to review your Fields Medal candidacy soon... Good luck.

It's not basic to me. I've never studied any of this. He was interesting, but he saves the good stuff till the end. 9th dimensional math was like science fiction 20 years ago. Now its in the first course @MIT. Wow.
