When I buy a gaming console, I don't buy it to watch High-Quality movies, dipshit. The PS3 has so many Hardware glitches, backwards compatibility is fucked. The only decent Exclusive game I can think of is Resistance, and that's not worth spending the 400-fucking-dollars on the system. Well if you need to get to a secret mission you can select previously completed missions as well as the one your up to. However, you still need to be familar with what secret mission is available on each regular mission but that can be easily found out.

Ah, well, what I meant was this. After getting Aegis Shield in mission 9, you can backtrack all the way to the secret mission in Fortuna Castle. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if you even can. So, you'll either have to attempt it with Dante, or do it with Nero on your next run through, since all you're abilities will carry over.

Why do you have to backtrack the fight with Credo is mandatory and the Aegis Shield is received after you defeat Credo it's part of the end fight cinematic you can't avoid getting it. So I don't understand why you need to backtrack...
