Just enjoy the music. At least there's other people on this planet besides you and I who appreciate this form of art. Screw what others think. Just enjoy and appreciate what someone slaved over for weeks, months, if not years, so that we can sit back, listen, and say "Hey, that was great."

so why the fuck did you bring this up Plus, can you say Mozart was nominated for an Oscar for best original score? No, but Glass was nominated twice?its invalid

No shit, Sherlock. Who cares about awards for composers these days anayway? no one really pays attention to classical music anymore unless you're john williams. And even with that, people would just recognize the theme to a movie he wrote the score for and not his name.

there were no oscars back then

You don't think Glass has already been regarded a great composer? I may not be as familiar with Glass as I am with masters like Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Bach among others, but Glass is responsible for bringing minimlism as one of the stand out genres of modern music. Plus, can you say Mozart was nominated for an Oscar for best original score? No, but Glass was nominated twice. Once for "The Hours" and I forget the other one, but otherwise he is an amazing composer to be well remembered.
