My "rant" was that Klein blames the wrong people and ideals for fascism. I guess you didn't get that either. And, of course that she is a socialist.

Now you conclude that means I am anti-government and an anarchist, well, shows what little you know. I.e. if I am against what the Constitution didn't provide for, I am anti-government. In fact you are anti-constitution if you promote what is outside the scope of the enumerated powers therein. Government is supposed to provide for common defense, PROTECTION, not interference of individual rights.

That's your conclusion from what i wrote, that I am a neoanachist? You obviously don't have any idea what Government roles not only should be, but what was set out in the Constitution. They don't include healthcare, redistribution of individuals wealth (Socialism), preemptive wars, foreign intervention, private intervention (Socialism), spying on people, business regulation (Socialism). I'm all for what the Constitution set forth for the Government. t

"If the Government takes from some, small or big, to give to others, it is socialism"Sounds like you're a strict libertarian...and that you have a very broad definition of socialism. You sound anti-government to the point of being a neoanarchist. But, this gets beyond the scope previous comments; you rant against Naomi Klein on the grounds that she is socialist. That's not the point; Klein's book is about shock economics and I would think that you would agree with her views. Read the book.
JoeyRamone63 (September 7, 2008 at 9:11 pm)
Your definition of socialism and communism is ludicrous. We have been moving towards corporatism/fascism ever since Reagan implemented "trickle-down" economics. The last 8 years of Bushonomics has accelerated this movement even more. Federal bailouts of Bear Stearns and now Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae exemplify this policy of corporate welfare. In that sense, you could say our govt. is 'socialist'. But it's not for the benefit of the people; it's for the benefit of corporations.

Okay, so you are arguing for socialism in a smaller way? Like less stealing is okay with you, but not too such stealing? Like its okay to steal a small chocolate but $100 is wrong? Like that kinda attitude? You keep connecting capitalist and socialist society. If the Government takes from some, small or big, to give to others, it is socialism. Yes the US is a socialist country on the way of becoming full communist unless something changes.

the US is the most degenerated state in the world both statisticly and by mear observation. Those 100 years have been NOTHING but extreme government intervention, not physical, but by brainwashing propaganda techniques and lies.

"You can't admit that socialism is stealing from some to give to others."Socialism is not what I'm arguing for. At least, not in the extreme that you are probably talking about. I'm for reasonable progressive policies that put US citizens to work instead of shipping those jobs overseas. Your definition of stealing, however, appears to be tied to income tax. You rant against socialism in general but don't admit that income taxes and 'big govt' exist with socialist and capitalist leaders. |
