theiamania When numbers like you posted like "257 icecubes of 1x1x1 kilometer is melting of Greenland every year"It can sound like a lot but let's be honest and also post the number of what you call "ice cubes" that there are in Greenland. Now with ALL THE INFORMATION a person can see that your 257 cubes is like a speck of sand on a beach. You should also remember that the planet does not have a stable temp it's always changing, you my friend are only living in a speck of time

The estimate at the moment is that around 257 icecubes of 1x1x1 kilometer is melting of Greenland every year. And this number is rising.

MemeVector2 You have no idea how much ice there is in the world, no way is all the ice going to be gone. And remember only 10,000 years ago the entire USA was covered in snow and ice

Temperature isn't the problem (yet). Heat is the problem. My analogy is this: Imagine a glass of water with ice cubes in it. Put it over a flame. Stick a thermometer in it. The flame adds heat, but the temperature stays about the same as the ice melts. Once the ice is gone, the temperature rises fast! This should illustrate why we need to get our butts moving while we still have ice. Once we run out, the temperature will rise so fast we won't have enough time to fix anything before we bake.

every year since the early 70's that I could remember in Canada, we were able to skate on open water in winter, not in the last three years, my kids blame my generation also
