I'd go with Eddie on that. In technical terms Vai is amazing, he has a deep understanding of most musical styles on guitar and can turn his hand to just about anything, however, to you or me who just want a decent guitar lick, it can get a bit boring. When it comes to coming out with awesome riff after awesome riff, and writing songs that people really love and remember, Eddie wins hands down.

Hagar is NOT a good songwriter......he wrote lyrics like "only time will tell if we stand the test of time" and "she put cream in my coffee, butter on my biscuit, and cherry on my banana"......better lyrics could have been written by a 10-yr. old retard! Dave's lyrics were humorous and witty and they still entertain 25 yrs. later.

I think Diamond dave is a lot more healtier and a better performer, Hagar is a good song writer though, he wrote a song on meatloafs 'welcome to the neighbourhood' 'Amnesty for Granted'

Dave is just a cool motherfucker.....he enjoys life and loves adventure......while he is off exploring the jungles of New Guinea or rock-climbing on El Capitan in Yosemite, Spammy Hagar is busy checking his tequila sales and pretending to be a rock star on the side.......that explains why Dave is a true rock legend and Hagar is a fake and a poser.

LOL! Yea, pretty amazing! David is a devout practitioner of classic martial arts and has been since the age of 12, Roth also travels and teaches at seminars around the world in between projects. So all in all, he kicks ass in many ways!! ;)
