The great comedians don't rely on cursing and vulgarity; they are great because they can find the humor in situations we all can identify with, and they have amazing delivery and timing. Most comedians today seem to equate shocking the audience into an 'i can't believe he said that' laugh with actual comedy.

IMO, that he can be soo funny without cursing helps to show his comic virtuosity, sort of like climbing a mountain with little more than his bare hands.

The use of foul language, under the guise of 'freedom of speech', only shows a lack of sevility to one's listening audience and in almost all cases not funny at all. One must not equate intelligence/freedom of speech/respect, etc. to being a famous comedian. If your speech turns off your audience, a true professional comedien(ne) will seek to reach a larger audience.

Let me ask you a question, why do you use obscenities? Look how intelligent that paragraph you just wrote looked. Imagine how less intelligent you would appear if you added the "f" word in occasionally. Nobody has ever presented me a single good reason to be profane in speech. Find me one, and I'll think differently. I can think of a thousand reasons why not being profane is a good idea.
