Debating who has more talent as guitar player could go on for ever,i.e Clapton or Eddie.You have to admit Amato doesn't have the feel on Gary's solos. I disagree on the broader range to the band because they basically just play the old songs. Amato pretty much tries to replicate Gary's solos, but he just doesn't get there.

All I'm saying is that technically, I think Dave A. is a better guitar player. Gary's strength is really song writing. Again, I mean no disrespect to Gary because he has his strengths and it a great guitar player and probably the better "showman" of the two, but I think Dave is a better guitar player and brings a much broader range of playing to the band. Dave has played lead with LOTS of world-class bands before REO and face it, Gary could not of pulled that off.
