I, exactly today, we analyzed the concept of this video in my college class. (My first language is spanish, so please forgive any mistakes in my writing)I think taht it symbilizes that feeling you get when your trapped, seeing the universe moving. Then you "drown" in problems (about love, job, friendship) but the universe continous... then, you get back on your feet, no matter how bad and extreme the situation was.:)

possibly because he feels suffocated by the life he leads "a handshake of carbon monoxide'. or possibly he feels like a gold fish in a bowl going slowly around a bowl with no purpose... or probably because the director thought it looked good;)
