This is from the Ancient Indian Epic Ramayana. These two persons are Luve and Kusha. And they are enacting a famous incident of Ramayana, when the sons (living in exile) of Lord Rama capture the Victory Horse release by their father (Rama). Hanumana then came to rescue the horse. I am feeling very huble after seeing Ramayana in Cambodis. Its amazing that Indian ancient culture is every where in the world.

those are definitely two female dancers playing as boys, Prince Ream and Prince Laek when they were boys young. All roles in Khmer classical dance are performed by women except for monkeys and other animals like a horse or deer which are performed by men.

In this time my Thai`s King has not royal drama dance in his palace anymore.But we have Thai royal artist to take care and turn back the old culture for education of new generation people.And I am very surprise your comment look like you are Thai not Cambudian .

This dance has Ream-Leak whome dance catch the horse and in dance Ream-Leak will stand up the horse. By the old culture never use female stand on sholder of male.

this is not thai khon!your king didn't want his ladies dancing with men , so in siam,it was all male. but in cambodia, females played male and female role, because they were more easy on the eyes when they danced

Khon in old time normally use man played all.And present time we have boy to play in Drama too.
