1) If this work had any practical application he would not be needing any funding, he would be emptying out the casinos.2) If he weren't interested in a theory he would be trying to figure out why the experiment works in some cases and not in others.3) The signal he's looking at is so deep in the noise I don't see how it can be attributed to anything.4) Maybe the guy is just lying.

Psi is most likely real, but there are so much phonies, it just labels it with a big FAKE.

My thought experiment is completely wrong. Please ignore it. My brain must have been on vacation yesterday.

But, as you say, there is a "what if" factor. My thought experiment dont disproof the experiment. But it questions it, and that is always very important when it comes to science. There are plenty of examples of wrong conclusions made on bad assumptions. Another way of looking at it is to say it might indicate something. But if it only works with a few percent, and that it is so vague that it cant be used for "transmitting" something specific as random number, then what is it good for?

Lets say you do the test 100 times. 100 receivers (A), 100 senders (B). Using 4 pictures, and A has to find out what picture B thinks of. A have not seen the pics before the test. Each trial A thinks of many things, and in 25% of the trials it can relate to 2 of the pics. This means 25% of A have 50% chance of success, which is 12.5 people. From the rest of the 75% (ignoring other effects) 18.75 people will get it right. This adds up to 31.25 out of 100 will select the correct picture.

Believe is also the shortest path to delusions and manipulations ;)I do believe, that we are all connected in some mysterious way, I do believe, that there is something more, simply because I've experienced some strange things in my life. The bad thing is stuff like channelers, and other phonies, that make money out of such believes. That's why we need something of a prove, something 'material'.There's a lot to talk about, but char limit, is char limit :]

What if factor... Well, what if the receiver thinks about other stuff? He can think about millions of things. That might actually reduce the chance of getting it right. What I don't like, is your search for 'clear answer'. If the test, they are doing give about 30% success rate, that's only about 5% more, than statistical chance. So clear answer would be: it fails. But what about that persistent 'something interesting'? It's not, that we can do these things, but maybe we could do more? :/

Materialistic proof is the best way to separate reality from the imagined. How do you suppose someone suffering from schizophrenia differentiates between the two? On what basis does the reality you feel have any more substance?

What would the nature of our world shift to if the consensus vote of our species believed without a doubt that these were the parameters of it's nature? Wouldn't power be superceded if we all had our own? Belief is a shortcut to knowing the truth...

These words are too vague for most because they have not directly experienced what psi feels like. STOP making this all about materialistic proof and phenomena and realize that phenomena is only possible when the SPECIES COLLECTIVE is reconnected to itself and KNOWS what it chooses to do. If you don't understand what this means, think about it for a while, feel---- maybe sooner or later you'll "get it"... |
