Don't get me wrong I want them to succeed to the highest level,I just wish they would do things a little different, anyway I am starting to sound bitter, I am just frustated that it is our time to shine as Garinagu and we are not siezing the opportunity. One Love to all people, not just Garinagu. Aban Isien houn sun mutu, Bungiu Baba furumein.

Look at David Suazo, Pando Ramirez, Tyson Nunez and many others, they should world know that they are a part of a unique group of people I have yet to hear any of them mention Garifuna, but they would grab the Honduran flag and run around with it before they would grab a Garifuna flag, to me I find that sickening.A man that does not know his history or culture is like a tree without roots.

look at La Banda Blanca, you could not tell them that they were not Garifuna People. They really thought that Garifuna was fashion and not People. It is my opinion that most Garinagu from Honduras don't represent us well anyway. I think that after God should come your culture, but I see with Honduran Garifuna, that is not so, look at their pro soccer players, they go abroad and don't even mention Garifuna, you would think that this would be an opportunity to promote their culture but they don't.

I was born in southern Belize (Dangriga), but if you notice I don't claim any country because I know historically what certain countries have done to Garinagu. I don't discriminate when it comes to my people, if you have a lighter skin tone to me it does not matter as long as you are Garifuna we are brothers. The problem I have is when our elders bend over backwards to educate others about Garifuna culture and language and neglect to educate their own kids at home. I don't want to sound bitter .

im garifuna and im brown i look like a typical honduran kid i jus wish my skin was black tho cuase i feel so outsider but wut u do u mean assiotaed with the bottom? wut part of central america u from ?

Yes, we are not all blacks, but majority of us are, I do agree that we have some mix in us, since a lot of us don't want to claim Africa or black because it is associated with the bottom, we look for the mulato look and say yeah look at that beautiful Garifuna person, where I am from I see very few Amerindian decent Garinagu, maybe where you are from you see them quite often, I don't deny they exist, I see Caucasians claiming to be Garifuna |
