I took video clips from sailing vacations over several years and a few different boats. We had an Islander 28 from 1992 to 2002, a Catalina 34 from 2003 to 2006 and a Fraser 41 from 2006 to present. We were on the Fraser when the whale swam under the boat.

What kind of boat was that? It liked like an Esprit?

Thanks, yes, that's where we are moored (Mitchell Bay close to Snug Harbor). Virtually everytime out last summer the Orca were there going by. We've had them surface within 20 feet of the boat, but I've never seen them go directly under us like they did on your video. That must've been intense!

Try sailing off the West Shore of San Juan in August when the Sockeye Salmon are running and you stand a good chance of seeing Orca.

Nice! Love the scene where the Orca go directly under your boat. I hope we get to experience that on our boat up here.- From Moonfish on SailNet
