Meyer's characterization is really good, but Bella, man although she's smart, she's also whiney and ungrateful, especially when Edward is not around. She really doesnt give a damn about anyone except Edward, and Nessie, and only Alice when she's not around. Other than characterization, Meyer lacks a good plot to make the whole saga go into flow. I sorta thought the Switzerland chapter was kinda unessecary, especially when she ended up choosing Ed over Jacob in the end. Gah, I don't like Bella!
