So it's no surprise then that he sounds like cat a bit. Taj mahal has made some great recordings too, in particular 'six days on the road'. Check out his performances on the rolling stones rock and roll circus! (if you haven't already)

Actually, he was influenced by Cat Stevens (and Leonard Cohen, Taj Mahal, David Lindley), all of whom used to visit his grandparents music store, The Folk Music Center and Museum, in Claremont, CA.He 'broke out' when Taj Mahal took him on the road at 20...

I never said that he had anything to do with cat stevens, I just thought that he reminded me of him, and of course, that's just my opinion, which I am entitled to, as you are to yours, as for him being better than cat stevens, I really don't agree, I think ben is great but not quite as good as cat, YET...
