that thing is basicaly a umpc, it runs windows ce, and has a stardard usb connector, but its way too expensive. I would reccomend buying the archos 5 before this, you get the internet, and its cheaper. (and thinner, more memory, looks better, its flash capabilities are better, and its a internet tv.... all for just $349..... so much better, but the cowon q5 is still appreciable

i forgot to ask one more question can u browse photos for example whilst listening to music or just looking through your files and can you create playlists and if u can on the go playlists?

Never tried a hard drive on the USB but once I had a USB Stick with 1GB and some fotos on the Q5W. And I could watch all the fotos on the foto viewer. Dont know how it is working with videos and stuff but I think it will be the same.
