great song. this is one of my favorites. lynyrd skynyrd is a legend and will stay around forever, representing the southern pridee. =)

It's because of what that flag represented. Not so much today, i'm sure it's just a "southern pride" thing, but some people don't understand that. They see that flag and think of slavery and the civil war. I just moved from Michigan to NC...I haven't seen too much blatent racism, but I have seen a boat load of confederate flags...who know.

Just a quick question to start a discussion...a nice one now, not a cursing and name calling festival.Why is it that the South is so condemned for the Stars and Bars and we are told it is a symbol of hate. Some schools, with the Rebels as a mascot, can't even have flags at their games.But, we don't seem to say anything about teams that are the 'Devils', 'Demon Deacons','Pirates', etc.
