The hardest part is actually supporting the deck while upside down (and not having the weight rest on the spindle).

Hello very nice video , I own an audio technica three speed turntable and the cable broke and I replaced it and since then it has a buzzing sound and hum and I am wondering what the problem is . this unit did not come with a ground chord. only the rca cable and power cord. and unit. I have had this unit for two years and I really like the unit but hate the buzz and hum please help thank you

AutoBat1 - You are incorrect. This unit has NO USER-SERVICEABLE parts inside. This means that any parts inside the unit cannot be EASILY replaced. Which is why it's complicated to replace anything on this unit. From the simple ARM REST to the Tonearm. They are not easily replaced. And thats what USER-SERVICEABLE means. It does not mean you CANNOT work on it, only that it is not made to be worked on easily by user. Nothing more. Nothing less. So feel free to work on it, but b careful.

The video might not be horribly useful for tonearm replacement, but everything in a tech1200 is USER SERVICEABLE. As someone that claims to work on them for a living, you ought to know that by now.

What does the main PCB have to do with the tonearm replacement? This should have been called "THE INSIDE OF THE TECHNICS TURNTABLE" - this has nothing to do with the title. This is giving people the wrong information, thinking that they have to remove the main PCB to fix the tonearm. There are NO USER SERVICEABLE parts inside this unit, and you could cause more damage to your turntable, as well as yourself, if you don't know what your doing. Trust me, I work on these things for a living!

Thanks! Now, for the love of God, please buy yourself a workbench! I kept waiting for you to loose the screws :-)

the inside of a photocopier looks similar to the inside of a turntable.....
