which is hilarious because both lennon and bowie were famous and wealthy, largely as a result of that "corrupt" system. sure, they did well in europe, but they made all their REAL money in america, since thats where the real money is

This song was co-written by John Lennon, who was not a fan of the American obsession with wealth, fame and what he saw as a corrupt system. Don't know that it was aimed at Americans, but I would guess it was considering the writers... |
